spirituality dialogues

I somehow stumbled upon a series of free dialogues with spiritual leaders that is currently in progress. Not something I would normally even go near, a bit skeptical I am of this sort of thing, but I’m glad I found it because it’s quite interesting and there seems to be no catch!

It’s called the Sacred Awakenings series and I’ve listened to a few of the dialogues (each one is one hour, I believe). I listened to the Alice Walker talk and it was full of very inspiring beautiful words and stories from her life and the lives of others. Here is a quote from her talk in which she speaks of the responsibility, the role of the artist. It made me think of Japan…

You start in these places where you just think that our job is to come in and to help you to rise again, and to be whole even in your woundedness and even in your ragged and distraught and distressed situation. It is our job to come in and make it possible for you to see that whatever is happening we live in a magical world, and it has not changed. We have changed, but the world itself is amazing as ever and you don’t have to go very far to find this out, you just step outside the door, or even inside. But your eyes open to what is marvelous in life and they do not remain focused on what has gone horribly wrong.

This is the schedule, the past talks are always available to listen to online or to download.
